Lane widening on Besraya completed, opens to traffic on Monday

KUALA LUMPUR: The lane-widening project near the Seri Kembangan interchange (southbound) on the Sungai Besi Highway (Besraya) is now fully completed and will be opened to traffic starting on Monday.

Highway users from Kuala Lumpur to Balakong and Putrajaya can now enjoy a more comfortable journey.

Besraya (M) Sdn Bhd in a statement announced that the RM5.22mil project was implemented with the support of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) involving the route from KM4.2 to KM3.8 of the Highway (southbound).

The project aims to increase lane capacity and smoothen traffic movement for users from the South Mines toll plaza to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Balakong and Putrajaya, especially during peak hours.

"Along with this opening, the tidal lane from KM5.3 to KM3.8 southbound will be terminated. The termination of this tidal lane is expected to improve the efficiency and smoothness of traffic flow in both directions.

"Besraya remains committed to providing a safer, more comfortable and smoother highway network, especially for users heading to Balakong and Putrajaya, as well as supporting ongoing efforts to strengthen the country's highway infrastructure network," the statement said. – Bernama
