KUALA LUMPUR: The government will add more services to the MyGOV Malaysia app by year’s end, as it works towards linking digital services across ministries and agencies, says Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.
He said the move was part of the GovTech Malaysia plan to make government dealings simpler and reduce the need for people to submit the same information repeatedly to different agencies.
“GovTech Malaysia is not just about digitising existing processes. It is about redesigning the way the government delivers services,” he said in the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (Oct 22).
Gobind said MyGOV Malaysia had recorded 3,199,120 downloads and 3,014,096 active users as at Oct 8.
The platform has integrated 62 services from 22 public-sector agencies and uses MyDigital ID as a single sign-on.
Among the services available are checking and paying summonses, applying for a replacement MyKad, checking prices of goods, getting travel and licence information, managing health appointments, checking examination results and searching for unclaimed money.
He said GovTech Malaysia was also developing shared digital services, including TanyaKerajaan, an AI-based information and assistance service.
Other services planned for integration include MyPersona, which will offer more personalised services, and MyAppointment for appointment management.
Gobind said the government would widen the use of shared digital platforms and introduce practical AI applications in government operations by the end of 2026.
This includes Agenda AI, a meeting management system using agentic AI to handle recordings, transcriptions, meeting minutes and follow-up action.
From 2027, he said the government would move away from building separate apps for individual agencies and focus on a reusable digital platform ecosystem across ministries and agencies.
The plan includes linking government services to major life events, such as the birth of a child, starting school, beginning work, opening a business and retirement.
Gobind said this would allow people to access related services in a more organised way without having to deal separately with several agencies.
The government will also focus on data-sharing, cybersecurity, privacy, data governance and digital talent in the public sector, he added.
