KUALA LUMPUR: Efforts to preserve the legacy and contributions of former prime minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein will take centrestage at a special event.
Organised by the National Unity Ministry through the National Archives of Malaysia, “Remembering Statesman Tun Abdul Razak: Architect of National Development and Nation-Building” will be held at the Tun Abdul Razak Memorial.
It is an annual effort to elevate and appreciate the legacy and contributions of statesmen to the country, as well as serving as one of the components of the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.
“This initiative reflects the ministry’s commitment to highlighting the role, contributions and services of Tun Abdul Razak as a statesman who laid the solid foundations for national development, public unity and nation-building,” it said in a statement.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officiate the event on Sept 8.
National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang stressed that younger generations must study history to advance as a nation.
“History is not merely to be remembered, but appreciated and used as a guide,” Aaron said.
