AYER KEROH: Datuk Seri R. Ramanan has urged PKR members to rally behind Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for a second term to enable the Federal Government to complete its reform agenda.
The PKR vice-president said unity within the party was crucial to ensuring that government policies and reform initiatives yield tangible results for the public.
“We must move as one team, because the party and the people are waiting to see results from all of us.
“I hope that before we all leave this congress, we make one commitment and one resolve. We want PMX (Anwar) to remain for another term. Only then can the reforms and our struggle be completed, only then can our work be completed,” he said during his winding-up speech at the 2026 PKR National Congress on Sunday (Aug 16).
Ramanan stressed that the party’s strength relies on collective unity rather than individual interests or factional rivalries.
“Although we may have different views and opinions, one thing is very important. We must understand that our true strength does not lie in any individual or group,” he said.
He warned that internal conflicts would disorganise party branches, confuse the grassroots machinery, and ultimately benefit political opponents.
While advocating for party solidarity, Ramanan noted that internal unity does not preclude constructive feedback.
“Defending the party and the president does not mean we cannot offer criticism. We can criticise, we can have different views. But we must be strong and united,” he said, calling on members to resolve differences collaboratively and put aside personal egos.
