Fire damages gazebo, part of house in Tanjung Karang, no injuries reported


PETALING JAYA: A fire damaged a gazebo and part of a house in Kampung Haji Razali, Tanjung Karang, on Thursday (Aug 6), but no injuries were reported.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 9.09am and dispatched firefighters from the Tanjung Karang Fire and Rescue Station, with assistance from the Sekinchan Fire and Rescue Station.

"The first fire engine arrived at the scene at 9.12am, about 6km from the station.

"The fire involved a Class B house, with the 10ft by 20ft gazebo sustaining about 90% damage, while about 5% of the house's outer wall was affected," he said in a statement on Thursday (Aug 6).

Ashrul Riezal said the blaze was brought under control at 9.30am and was successfully extinguished by firefighters at the scene.

"No casualties were reported in the incident," he said.

A total of 16 firefighters and two fire engines were deployed for the operation.
