KUALA TERENGGANU: A total of 270,405 youths were trained under the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Skills Competency Training Programme between 2012 and 2025.
CIDB senior general manager for registration and accreditation Heryanti Helmi said the programme covered a wide range of skills, including electrical works, welding, heavy machinery operation, non-destructive testing, architectural drafting and scaffolding installation.
She said CIDB allocated RM604mil to the programme over the period to meet the evolving needs of the industry, Bernama reported.
“CIDB offers more than 100 construction skills training programmes that meet current industry requirements through six Akademi Binaan Malaysia centres and CIDB Technologies nationwide,” she said.
