ACTRESS Zalfa Zin (pic) has spoken up about her lifestyle, saying that she does not want to project an image of perfection about herself.

“If I were to give an impression that I am someone who is so good and who supposedly has never stepped into a night club, eventually people would talk when they found out about it,” she told BH Online.

Zalfa, 33, explained that she prefers to be honest about her personal life instead of creating a persona just to please the public.

Her occasional visits to nightspots are mainly for friends’ birthday celebrations or to support people she knows, she said.

“But it doesn’t mean that I drink liquor or that I am up to no good. Many people make assumptions just because someone goes to a night club.”

The Seoul Cinta actress said she now goes out far less often than before.

“The days of going out every day are over. Even I am tired of such a lifestyle,” she said.

> His interest in the art of producing traditional sheaths for the keris began at the age of 15 after witnessing his late father making golok (machete) sheaths.

Today, 49-year-old Rosdi Abd Hamid is among just four people in Besut, Terengganu who can craft such traditional sheaths, Mingguan Malaysia reported.

On average, he produces 100 sheaths yearly apart from keris handles ordered by customers.

“For the handle, there are three types; namely, Hulu Pipit Thailand, Hulu Pipit Tiga and Hulu Jawa Demam,” he said, while the popular sheath styles include Tebing Terengganu, Tebing Kelatan, Kuchiwa and Tanjung.

The prices for keris and golok sheaths range from RM450 to RM4,000 depending on the type of wood, materials and level of carving required.
