PORT DICKSON: Early voting turnout for the Negri Sembilan state election reached 86.4% as of 2pm on Tuesday (July 28), according to the Election Commission.
The commission said 14,228 military and police personnel, along with their spouses, had cast their ballots.
Of the number, 90.41% of police personnel and their spouses as well as 84.57% of army personnel and their spouses, cast their votes.
While about 22,000 personnel are eligible for early voting in the state, only 16,467 will vote in person as the remainder have applied for postal votes.
Earlier Tuesday, Election Commission chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said early voter turnout is expected to reach 90%.
Polling day for the 16th Negri Sembilan state election falls on Aug 1.
