PETALING JAYA: Years of sacrifice melted into tears of joy for a street sweeper when her four daughters surprised her with a birthday celebration at her workplace, in a heartwarming moment that has since gone viral on social media.

The video showed 50-year-old M. Kavita pausing from her work as a street sweeper in Seremban after being approached by a man recording a social media video.

Still holding her broom, Kavita answered a series of questions, including why she was still working at the age of 50.

She replied that she enjoyed her job and carried out her work wholeheartedly. She also shared that she was grateful all five of her children had good jobs, adding that all she had ever wanted was for them to be happy.

Unaware that her four daughters had quietly gathered behind her, Kavita continued answering the questions until the man asked her to turn around.

Caught completely by surprise, she broke down in tears as she saw her daughters standing behind her in their respective work uniforms. Smiling through tears, she embraced each of them as they wished her a happy 50th birthday.
