KUALA LUMPUR: A former Safety and Health Manager of THP Bina Sdn Bhd was charged at the Sessions Court on Thursday (Sept 3) with three counts of criminal breach of trust involving RM72,000 in penalty collections related to a proposed office complex development project in Putrajaya.
Nasahruddin Ahmad, 56, pleaded not guilty after all three charges were read out separately before Judge Rosli Ahmad.
THP Bina Sdn Bhd is a wholly owned subsidiary of TH Properties Sdn Bhd, which is understood to be a subsidiary of Lembaga Tabung Haji and is involved in construction and project management.
Nasahruddin, who was entrusted with RM72,000 collected as penalties from contractor Fourth Wave Sdn Bhd in his capacity as the company’s Safety and Health Manager, was alleged to have committed criminal breach of trust by depositing the money into his personal account.
According to the charges, Nasahruddin allegedly committed criminal breach of trust involving RM72,000 in penalty collections from Fourth Wave Sdn Bhd for the proposed office complex development project in Precinct 3, Putrajaya, by depositing the money into his personal account.
The offences were allegedly committed between April 26, 2013 and Aug 12, 2015 at Kompleks Islam Putrajaya, Precinct 3, Putrajaya.
The charges were framed under Section 409 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of between two and 20 years, whipping, and a possible fine upon conviction.
