Banting school stabbing suspect to be charged on Friday, say Selangor cops


PETALING JAYA: The suspect who was arrested following a stabbing incident in a school in Banting will be charged on Friday (July 10).

According to Selangor police, the suspect will be brought to the Telok Datok courthouse on Friday at 8am.

Earlier on Thursday (July 9), Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said that the police had recorded statements from all listed in the suspect’s notes.

Police confirmed that the suspect is currently suffering from mental health issues, including depression.

On Monday (July 6), a 15-year-old girl was arrested for following the stabbing of a fellow student at a secondary school in Banting.

Before the incident, the suspect was reportedly seen entering the school compound through the main entrance wearing a black T-shirt and red checkered trousers.

Several videos of the incident have since surfaced on social media, showing a teenage girl dressed in black walking around the school compound while holding a knife as students ran for safety.
