Police arrest man over alleged sexual assault of college students


SHAH ALAM: Police have tracked down a man suspected of sexually assaulting two 15-year-old male college students in separate incidents here.

Shah Alam police chief ACP Sarudin Samah said police received reports on Friday (July 3) from the two students, who are enrolled at a college in the Glenmarie area, alleging that they had been assaulted by an individual believed to be an employee of the institution.

"The first victim alleged that he was molested in the restroom of the college dormitory, while the second victim claimed he was sodomised at the suspect's house in Section 18, Shah Alam," he said in a statement on Saturday (July 4).

Sarudin said that the suspect has been arrested and is currently under investigation.

He said the suspect was arrested at a restaurant in the Shah Alam area at 12.01am on Saturday.

Sarudin said the first case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, while the alleged sodomy case is being investigated under Section 377C of the Penal Code.

He urged anyone with information related to the incidents to contact Investigating Officer Insp Mohd Razi Sahari at 019-5717076 or Insp Muhamad Zamri Abdul Rahman at 011-1665 2402 to assist in the investigation. – Bernama
