Thunderstorms, heavy rain to hit seven states until 1am


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) is warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected to affect seven states until 1am on Thursday (July 2).

In a statement on Wednesday (July 1), MetMalaysia said the adverse weather is forecast to affect Langkawi in Kedah; Kampar, Batang Padang and Mualim in Perak; and Gua Musang in Kelantan.

The same warning has also been issued for Terengganu; Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub and Jerantut in Pahang; as well as Hulu Selangor in Selangor.

In Sabah, the affected areas are expected to be Nabawan in the Interior, Ranau on the West Coast, Tongod, Telupid and Beluran in Sandakan, as well as Kudat. – Bernama
