IPOH: A woman reported missing in Taiping since June 16 has come forward and lodged a police report at the Kajang District Police Headquarters in Selangor, denying allegations that she had been abducted.
Acting Taiping OCPD Supt Mohd Ariffridzuan Ezahar said Nor Afiza Zainuddin, 41, lodged the report at about 3pm on Sunday (June 28).
"Through the police report, the missing person also informed us that she did not wish to be disturbed by her family members or any other parties.
"She (Nor Afiza) explained that she had left home on June 16 of her own free will without any coercion from any individual," he said in a statement on Sunday.
Supt Ariffridzuan said her statement had been recorded and police had verified that the report was genuine, adding that she was found to be safe, in good health and unharmed.
In this regard, Supt Ariffridzuan advised the public not to speculate or spread unverified information regarding the case, which could cause unnecessary public concern.
On June 24, Supt Ariffridzuan said Nor Afiza was last seen leaving her mother's house in Lorong Mewah 16, Taman Mewah, Kamunting, on June 16, driving a white Perodua Axia.
On June 21, police found the Perodua Axia in good condition along with several items belonging to Nor Afiza at a recreational area in Kampung Paya Lintang, Batu Hampar, near Padang Rengas.- Bernama
