Number of flood evacuees drops in Selangor, rises slightly in Perak


KUALA LUMPUR: The situation continues to improve in the flood-hit area of Selangor, while Perak recorded a slight increase in the number of evacuees this morning.

In Selangor,16 people from 10 families are being accommodated at a relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) RTB Bukit Changgang at 8am on Sunday (June 28), compared to 309 people from 150 families on Saturday night.

In Perak, the number of evacuees still taking shelter at the Dewan Bandaran Gopeng in the Kampar district since June 20 rose slightly to 52 people from 16 families, compared with 51 people from 16 families on Saturday night

The Perak State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, in a statement, said all of them had been placed at the relief centre after their houses in Kampung Ulu Geruntum, Kuala Razila, were cut off following the collapse of a bridge caused by a water surge incident. – Bernama
