Video of student kicked during football game sparks police report

ALOR SETAR: Father of a 16-year-old student files a police report on June 20 after a viral video shows his son being kicked by a schoolmate in Taman Uda.

The incident allegedly happened on June 16.

A police statement on Thursday (June 25) said that investigations found that the victim and the two suspects were friends who had known each other since primary school. They were studying in the same class at SMK Syed Omar.

"According to the victim, one of the suspects confronted him over allegations that he had disturbed the suspect's girlfriend, a claim the victim denied.

"The suspect allegedly kicked the victim in the stomach, causing him to fall, before kicking him again on the side of his body.

"The victim also claimed that another suspect pushed him with his foot while he was on the ground," said the police.

The victim initially did not notify his parents or school to avoid escalating the situation.

Police are investigating under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
