Remand extended for rider suspected of taking RM10,000 from lost wallet

KAJANG: Police have extended the remand of a delivery rider suspected of stealing RM10,000 from a wallet he allegedly tried to return.

"The remand has been extended until June 23," Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said when contacted on Sunday (June 21).

On Thursday, the suspect was arrested following a viral video from a Chinese national stating that she had lost her wallet containing RM10,000 in cash at a supermarket in Semenyih.

The woman later met a man who claimed to have found and returned the empty wallet. However, the man denied taking the cash.

“Following investigations, the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kajang district police headquarters arrested a 37-year-old man at 1am on Thursday," ACP Naazron said in a previous statement.
