Ella to rock Penang again in fully loaded concert

QUEEN of Rock, Ella Aminuddin, is set to return to Penang for a major concert nearly three years after her “Konsert Jilid Akhir: Ella Puteri Kota” in the state, Berita Harian reported.

Ella, whose real name is Nor Zila Aminuddin, will perform at the “Konsert Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen Ella: Homecoming Edisi 60 Permata Biru” on Aug 22 following requests from fans eager to see her return to the Pearl of the Orient.

Originally scheduled for the Penang State Stadium in Batu Kawan on July 25, the concert has been moved to the indoor SPICE Arena in Bayan Lepas after fans expressed a preference for a more comfortable setting.

“Probably fans want to enjoy the lighting, sound system and music quality more closely and comfortably,” Ella said, adding that unpredictable weather was also a factor behind the venue change.

Despite decades in the music industry, Ella admitted she still feels nervous before every major performance.

She credited her husband, Capt Azhar Ghazali, as a constant source of support, describing his frequent appearances on stage with her as a motivation and noting his role in providing ideas and advice behind the scenes.

The concert will also feature guest performers Datuk Ramli Sarip and Ziana Zain.

> Harian Metro reported that a man who donated a kidney to his wife has returned to work five months after the surgery.

Mohd Nadzim, 42, said he underwent the transplant to help his wife, Sharifah Shafiah Syed Shahab, who suffered from chronic kidney disease.

“I am back at work and can carry out my responsibilities as usual, but I take better care of my health now,” he said.

Nadzim hopes his experience will encourage more people to register as organ donors, saying the donation gave his wife a second chance at life.
