A 12-YEAR-OLD boy in China was caught after allegedly stealing a neighbour’s car and driving on a highway for more than six hours.
China Press reported that a toll booth staff in Guangxi became suspicious when they saw a small-statured person behind the wheel on June 15.
When asked his age, the boy claimed to be an adult with dwarfism. Police later discovered he was only 12 and did not possess a driving licence.
He admitted that he and his friends had taught themselves how to drive and had secretly driven vehicles before.
Police said the boy allegedly stole the car keys at about 4am and entered the expressway around 4.45am, travelling through several towns.
He was caught after running out of money to pay the toll fee.
> The daily also reported that a severed human leg found at a recycling centre in Incheon, South Korea, initially sparked fears of a murder case.
However, DNA tests later revealed that the limb belonged to a woman in her 80s, who had her leg amputated at a nursing hospital.
Investigations found that the limb had allegedly been mistaken for ordinary waste and discarded in a plastic bag instead of being treated as medical waste.
Those responsible could face penalties under South Korea’s waste management laws.
> A Singaporean man who allegedly lost interest in his wife after witnessing her giving birth, admitted to posing as a female pimp online to trick women into providing sexual services, Oriental Daily reported.
The 40-year-old created a fake persona named “Sherry” and offered women up to S$5,000 (RM16,000) for introductions to wealthy clients.
He then arranged meetings and instructed the women to wear blindfolds, claiming it was a client’s special request, when he was in fact the client himself.
