PUTRAJAYA: Up to 640 sponsorship places will be offered by the Public Service Department (JPA) to this year’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) graduates as part of its continued commitment to developing the country’s future talent pool.
The department said the sponsorship opportunities comprise four programmes: the National Sponsorship Programme (30 places), the Special Programme for Japan, South Korea, France and Germany (140 places), the Special Programme for Domestic SPM Graduates (200 places) and the JPA-Mara Special Programme (PKJM), which offers 270 places.
The initiative aligns with the government’s aspiration to produce high-performing human capital capable of driving Malaysia’s progress and enhancing its global competitiveness, it said in a statement.
According to JPA, the sponsorships cover various strategic and critical fields, including engineering, science and technology, as well as the social sciences.
“Through these programmes, students will have the opportunity to pursue their studies at leading educational institutions locally and abroad, including in the United States, Australia, Japan, South Korea, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and New Zealand, as well as at higher education institutions in Malaysia,” the statement said, Bernama reported.
