Thunderstorm in nine states, Labuan until 9pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds for nine states and Labuan until 9pm on Thursday (June 18).

MetMalaysia said the warning covers the whole of Perlis, as well as Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Sik and Baling) and Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta and Kampar).

Similar weather conditions are also forecast in Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Bentong, Bera and Rompin), Selangor (Hulu Langat), Negri Sembilan (Jelebu and Jempol) and Johor (Segamat, Kluang and Mersing).

In Sarawak, the affected areas are Kuching (Bau and Kuching), Serian, Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Sarikei (Meradong), Sibu, Mukah (Tanjung Manis), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau and Sebauh), Miri (Marudi) and Limbang.

The same warning has also been issued for Sabah, involving the interior (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Tambunan), the west coast, and Sandakan (Tongod and Kinabatangan). - Bernama
