IPOH: Police will monitor the activities of the Rohingya community in Manjung from time to time, says Comm Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin.
The Perak police chief said there had been no complaints or reports about the refugees so far, but the authorities would remain vigilant.
"We will also discuss with the government how best to handle the situation relating to the community.
"There have been no reports and complaints so far," he told a press conference at the state police officers' mess hall here on Friday (June 12).

He had earlier witnessed the handover of duties ceremony between outgoing state police Commercial Crime Investigation chief Asst Comm Mohd Fahmi Visuvanathan Abdullah and acting chief Supt Mohd Ridzuan Nor Ihsan.
"We advise the people not to take matters into their own hands should there be any incidents involving the community.
"Report the matter to the police and leave it to us," he added.
It has been reported that there is a large number of Rohingya in Manjung, with the matter also being raised in a National Security council meeting.
