Kampung Gajah murder suspect still at large after getaway car found abandoned


IPOH: Police have found the getaway car believed to have been used by the suspect in the fatal stabbing of a man at KM12, Jalan Trans Perak, Kampung Gajah, on Wednesday (June 10).

Perak Tengah OCPD Supt Hafezul Helmi Hamzah said the black vehicle was found abandoned by the roadside in Batu Gajah.

However, he said the suspect, identified as Mohammad Farizzal Fazly Mohd Zulkifly, 30, has yet to be located and efforts to track him down are being intensified.

"The car used by the suspect to escape has been found by the roadside near Batu Gajah. So far, the suspect is still at large and efforts to trace him are ongoing," he said when contacted on Thursday.

He said checks revealed that the suspect has a criminal record under Section 379A of the Penal Code linked to vehicle theft.

In Wednesday’s incident, a 29-year-old man died of severe injuries after being stabbed by the suspect during a fight.

The victim was taken to a clinic for treatment before being pronounced dead by a medical officer. - Bernama
