PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional's component parties will discuss its direction this week following PAS' decision to end political cooperation with Bersatu, says Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
The coalition's information chief said Perikatan's status and direction would be discussed among PAS, Gerakan and MIPP, with meetings expected this week.
"The position of Perikatan will be discussed jointly by the coalition's component parties, especially PAS, Gerakan and MIPP," he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (June 10).
Annuar, a PAS central committee member, said his party's decision was solely related to its bilateral ties with Bersatu and did not involve Perikatan as a coalition.
He added that PAS' move was not driven by personal issues but followed unsuccessful efforts to preserve cooperation with Bersatu.
Late Monday (June 8) night, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang announced that the party had decided to terminate its political cooperation with Bersatu.
His announcement followed a special meeting of the PAS central working committee at party headquarters.
