IT turned out to be the last outing for a six-year-old girl in India, who was found dead later, Makkal Osai reported.

Her mother, known only as Priyanka, has since gone into hiding after the girl’s death in March.

The man she had been having an affair with, Mohan, claimed that Priyanka had strangled her daughter as she was getting in the way of their dalliance.

Priyanka, who is from the southern state of Kerala, got married 19 years ago and has two children aged six and 17.

Some years ago, she reconnected with Mohan, an old friend, and the pair began an affair.

Eventually, Priyanka left her husband and moved in with Mohan, taking her six-year-old daughter Vennila with her.

In March, Vennila died suddenly. According to Priyanka, they had gone out for biryani and ice cream and when they reached home, the girl who had been sleeping in the back seat of the car was found dead. Autopsy results revealed that Vennila had likely died of strangulation.

Mohan has since been arrested by the police, while Priyanka is still at large.
