PM Anwar to chair meeting to finalise Johor, Negri seat allocations, says Saifuddin

PUTRAJAYA: Seat allocations for the upcoming Johor and Negri Sembilan state elections will be decided at a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister soon, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

"So the next process is to obtain confirmation. There will be a presidential council meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, and I will present it there. Only then will it become official,” the PKR vice-president said when asked on seat allocations after the Home Ministry monthly assembly here on Monday (June 8).

The Home Minister also said that previous “overlapping claims” over a seat had been resolved.

“We also recently resolved that issue in Johor during the secretariat meeting there,” he said.

The Johor and Negri Sembilan state legislative assemblies were dissolved on June 1 and June 5, respectively.
