HTAR implementing extra bird control measures

PETALING JAYA: Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) in Klang will implement more bird control measures after a pigeon was seen entering a ward in a viral video.

The hospital confirmed the incident, saying there is a large population of pigeons and crows in trees surrounding the hospital, and some would sometimes enter the hospital.

To address this, HTAR said it would regularly prune trees in surrounding areas as well as continuously monitor wards and hospital buildings for birds.

"The hospital has also established cooperation with the local authority to strengthen efforts in managing bird disturbances within hospital grounds.

"HTAR remains committed to ensuring that the hospital environment is always safe, clean and conducive for the well-being of patients, visitors and hospital staff," it said in a statement on Monday (June 8).
