JOHOR BARU: Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) needs at least two weeks to decide on its candidates, says Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.
Rafizi said the party would need time to decide, as online applications to become a Bersama candidate will only open on Monday (June 8).
"We have not discussed candidates at all yet because we still need to go through that process.
"We will announce our target seats in about a week or so.
"As for the candidates, I think it will take us about two weeks or so to finalise them, as they have to go through a process," he said.
He said this to the media when met with Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad after the Jelajah Kancil ceramah at Danga Bay Convention Centre on Saturday (June 6) night.
Asked if the party would stick to its stand of remaining solo in the Johor polls despite calls from other parties to discuss a collaboration, he said the decision was final.
"I don't think they have approached any of us on this matter, but since they made the remarks through the media, so we have to respond through it as well.
"We have said from the start that we will go solo. Full stop," he said.
Earlier, Muda president Amira Aisya Abd Aziz said the party was prepared to discuss a collaboration with Bersama for the upcoming state polls.
On May 17, Rafizi and Nik Nazmi announced that they were leaving PKR to join Bersama, a party that was officially registered in December 2016.
On June 1, Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced the dissolution of the Johor state assembly, paving the way for a state election.
