Unemployed man gets five months' jail for trespassing into woman's house in Melaka


MELAKA: A 25-year-old unemployed man has been sentenced to five months' jail by the Magistrate's Court in Ayer Keroh here after pleading guilty to trespassing into a house occupied by a young woman.

Magistrate Uthman Abd Ghani meted out the sentence on Muhammad Fikrie Roslan after he admitted to the charge on Friday (June 5).

According to the charge, the accused unlawfully entered a house occupied by a 23-year-old woman at Batu 10, Pantai Kundor in Tanjung Kling here at about 4pm on May 30.

The offence, framed under Section 448 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum jail term of three years, a fine of up to RM5,000, or both upon conviction.

Based on the facts of the case, the victim was alone at home when she heard knocking on her bedroom door but was too frightened to leave the room as the rest of her family had gone to work.

Her boyfriend, then arrived to deliver food and found the front door open and spotted the accused inside the living room.

Investigations revealed that the accused had entered the house without permission.
