Johor polls: PM Anwar to launch PH election machinery tomorrow

JOHOR BARU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also Pakatan Harapan chairman, is scheduled to launch the Johor Pakatan election machinery for the 16th Johor state election tomorrow night.

Johor PKR vice-chairman Jimmy Puah said in a Facebook post today that the launch is scheduled to take place at Dewan Sekolah Tinggi Cina in Batu Pahat at 8pm.

"Launch of Johor PH’s state election machinery. We are ready," the post read.

Pakatan deputy chairman and DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke, and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu are also expected to attend the event.

Earlier, Johor Pakatan announced that it would contest all 56 seats in the coming election.

In the 2022 Johor state election, Barisan Nasional won 40 seats, Pakatan secured 12, Perikatan Nasional won three, while Muda captured one.

The Johor State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on June 1, paving the way for the state election to be held within 60 days. - Bernama
