Freelance dancer denies assault on minor


SEREMBAN: A 32-year-old freelance dancer claimed trial in the Sessions Court to a charge of committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature on a 16-year-old male victim.

Muhammad Nazri Lanibi also pleaded not guilty to a second charge of physical sexual assault against the same victim.

The accused was charged with committing the first offence at about 12.30am at the China National Convention Center Grand Hotel in Beijing, China, in June last year.

He was charged under Section 377C of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of between five and 20 years and whipping upon conviction.

For the second charge, Muhammad Nazri was charged with committing the offence at about 12.30am on June 20 and 21 last year.

Judge Shahrul Rizal Majid set total bail at RM14,000 and fixed next mention for July 6.
