PETALING JAYA: Eligible Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) recipients will continue to receive their 200-litre monthly fuel quota, with the Finance Ministry clarifying that a lower limit displayed on the system was the result of a technical glitch.
In a statement yesterday, the ministry said the monthly quota limit had been displayed as 150 litres to some users during scheduled maintenance of the Budi95 system at 11pm on May 31.
It said this was the result of a technical system error, which has since been identified and rectified.
“The Budi95 monthly quota remains at 200 litres per month for eligible users, including for June,” the ministry said, stressing that no changes had been made to the programme’s monthly limit.
The ministry added that it would continue to ensure that the implementation of Budi95 is carried out smoothly, transparently and in an orderly manner to safeguard public interest and ensure that targeted fuel subsidies reach eligible recipients.
The ministry also expressed regret over any confusion caused by the technical error.
On May 29, the ministry ordered petrol companies to investigate stations identified for violating the standard operating procedure related to MyKad verification for every Budi95 transaction.
The ministry said that any transaction carried out manually without prior physical MyKad verification is not permitted.
It added that such practices create opportunities for unauthorised transactions, subsidy abuse and breaches of the programme’s integrity.
