MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms, heavy rain in seven states till 7pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected to hit several areas across seven states until 7pm Tuesday (June 2).

MetMalaysia, in a statement Tuesday, said weather conditions are expected throughout Perlis, while in Pahang, they will affect Cameron Highlands.

The weather is also forecast for Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, and Sik in Kedah; as well as Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, and Kampar in Perak.

In Terengganu, the affected areas comprise Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun, and Kemaman.

Meanwhile, in Sabah, a similar warning was issued for the West Coast (Ranau and Kota Belud); Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and Sandakan) and Kudat, while in Sarawak it involves Mukah (Mukah), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri, and Marudi) and Limbang. - Bernama
