Nine-year-old boy found dead after fall from 13th floor in Ampang


KUALA LUMPUR: A nine-year-old boy was found dead after he is believed to have fallen from the 13th floor of a building in Taman Cahaya Ampang, here on May 31.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Khairul Anuar Khalid, in a statement on Monday (June 1), said his department received information regarding the incident from a local woman at about 7.45pm.

ACP Khairul added that the boy was believed to be alone at home at the time of the incident.

According to him, a post-mortem on the victim was conducted at Ampang Hospital at 9am on Monday to identify the cause of death.

“We have recorded statements from the victim's parents, witnesses and other family members.

“The case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001,” he said.
