Bakul Kasih aid for over 550,000 families

JOHOR BARU: The Johor state government has allocated more than RM30mil for the implementation of the Bantuan Bakul Kasih Johor programme, which is expected to benefit over 550,000 needy families statewide.

Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the initiative was implemented to help ease the daily expenses of the people affected by cost-of-living pressures amid global economic uncertainty.

He said the food baskets comprise basic daily necessities such as rice, wheat flour, sugar and other essential items.

“The Bakul Kasih Johor initiative is one of many small efforts to help ease the burden for those in need,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday, following a working visit to the Tangkak and Muar districts where he personally delivered assistance to recipients, Bernama reported.

Onn Hafiz expressed hope that the contribution could help ease the financial burden of the families involved.

He said the state government would continue efforts to safeguard the welfare of the people, ensuring that every Bangsa Johor family enjoys a more prosperous life.
