Woman killed, five injured in Kuala Krai crash


KUALA KRAI: A woman was killed while five others, including two boys, were injured in an accident involving a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and a car near a Caltex petrol station in Laloh here on Wednesday (May 27) morning.

Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue station chief Nik Ahmad Afsham Nik Pa said the victim, Safinaz Razmi, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.

"We received an emergency call at about 7.18am and arrived at the scene 26 minutes later, covering a distance of 30.2km.

"The woman in the car was confirmed dead by the Health Ministry," he said in a statement.

He said the fire department removed the deceased and handed the body over to the police for further action.

"Meanwhile, the injured victims, which included three people in a car and two boys in an MPV, were sent to Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital, Kuala Krai for further treatment," he added. - Bernama
