MELAKA: A medical assistant claimed trial in the Sessions Court to 10 charges involving false acceptance notes for the supply of medical apparatus amounting to RM214,382.
The plea of Azizul Farid Muhammad, 48, was recorded before judge Elesabet Paya Wan.
Azizul Farid is accused of using documents namely Supply and Service Acceptance Notes with the intent to deceive his principal, which is the Health Ministry.
The documents were allegedly related to the supply of medical equipment for health and rural clinics under the Alor Gajah health office by two companies, despite the supplies purportedly not being carried out.
The accused was alleged to have known that the documents contained false particulars and were intended to mislead the ministry.
The offences were allegedly committed at the Alor Gajah health office between June 19 and Sept 29, 2023.
He was charged under Section 18 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009, punishable under Section 24(2) of the same Act.
Earlier, MACC deputy public prosecutor Sharina Farhana Nor Sa’ari asked the court to impose between RM40,000 and RM50,000 bail.
The court set the bail at RM30,000 with one surety and fixed July 14 for mention.
