Head-on collision near Tapah leaves one dead and six seriously injured


PETALING JAYA: One man was killed and six others were seriously injured in an accident near Tasek Temoh in Tapah.

The incident involved a head-on collision between two vehicles.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the deceased was a 29-year-old male.

He was pronounced dead on the spot by Health Ministry personnel on Wednesday (May 27) at about 2.55am.

"The deceased was travelling with another 40-year-old male in a car," Sabarodzi said in a statement.

"In the other multipurpose vehicle, the injured victims included five adults aged between 19 and 66," he added.

The two vehicles are believed to have collided head-on, causing a massive traffic jam.

Sabarodzi said the body of the deceased has been handed over to the police for the next course of action.

"Those who were injured have been sent to the nearest hospital for treatment," he said.
