KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain and strong winds warning involving the Federal Territory of Labuan and nine states until 7pm on Sunday (May 24).
According to a MetMalaysia statement, the adverse weather is expected to affect the whole of Terengganu; Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim) and Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Bachok, Machang and Pasir Puteh).
In Pahang, the warning covers Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Bera and Rompin, while in Selangor, the districts listed are Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat.
In Negri Sembilan, the areas expected to be affected are Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Jempol and Tampin, while in Johor, the warning covers Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru.
According to MetMalaysia, the same warning has also been issued for several districts in Sarawak, including Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Kapit (Kapit and Bukit Mabong), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang.
In Sabah, the areas forecast to be hit are the Interior, West Coast, Sandakan (Tongod, Telupid and Beluran) and Kudat. - Bernama
