AG seeks audience with King over Najib's conditional pardon

PUTRAJAYA: The Attorney General (AG) has sought an audience with His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, to seek forgiveness and express his position on complying with His Majesty's decree concerning Datuk Seri Najib Razak's conditional pardon in the SRC International case.

The Prime Minister's Office said the AG had made the request to seek an audience with His Majesty to affirm his intention to comply with the royal decree.

"The AG would also explain the legal questions arising from the High Court's release order following the payment of the RM50mil fine.

"These legal issues would need to be determined by the court as they have implications on the commencement date of Najib's prison sentence in the 1MDB case,"it said in a statement on Saturday (Nov 7).
