KUALA LUMPUR: A 15-year-old boy allegedly under the influence of alcohol was arrested after he slashed a security supervisor with a knife outside a mini mart at Razak City Residensi in Cheras.
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud said the incident involved a 49-year-old security supervisor who had reprimanded the teenager for throwing beer cans around the area.
“Initial investigations found that the suspect became unhappy after being reprimanded and acted aggressively by swinging a knife at the victim,” he said in a statement on Sunday (May 24).
The victim suffered a slash wound to the left side of his abdomen.
ACP Mohd Rosdi said a team from the Salak South police station arrested the suspect at the scene at about 10.45am on May 22.
Police also seized a knife believed to have been used in the incident.
He said checks revealed that the teenager was not attending school and had no prior criminal record, while a urine screening test returned negative for drugs.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon.
“The suspect was remanded for one day on May 23 and has since been released on police bail,” he said.
He added that investigation papers would be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions soon.
