"Preliminary investigations found that the victim had been sent by his parents to be cared for at a woman's house located not far from their residence about seven months ago," he said in a statement here on Friday.
He said the victim was later taken to Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital for further examination and treatment.
Alzafny added that a remand application would be made to enable investigations under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
