18 drums of petrol found floating in river

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 18 drums filled with petrol believed to have been misappropriated were found floating at the river mouth of Kampung Pagasonin at Sabah’s northern Pitas district during an integrated Op Tiris 4.0 operation.

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry’s Kudat branch chief Nazatul Shima Karim said that no individual or group had claimed ownership of the drums that were handed over by Company C, Battalion 16 of the General Operations Force Kudat after the fuel was discovered at the river mouth area on Thursday.

She added that the ministry would continue to strengthen enforcement to ensure the supply of controlled goods remains secure and reaches the intended target groups.
