SEREMBAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that every project and programme under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) must genuinely benefit and be felt by the people on the ground.
"Our priority is to ensure that every plan is translated into effective action for the well-being of the people and the nation's progress," he said in a Facebook post after chairing the Seremban District Development Meeting to review the implementation of programmes and projects under the 13MP on Friday (May 15).
Anwar said the meeting focused on matters closely related to the people's needs, including education, flood mitigation, infrastructure, healthcare and socio-economic strengthening.
The meeting was also attended by Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun and Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari.
He also stressed that the Madani government would continue coordinating efforts across ministries and agencies to ensure more efficient implementation and expedite the delivery of assistance and development.
At the same time, he said monitoring must be strengthened to prevent delays, leakages or implementation issues that could affect the people.
"Every project must be closely monitored and implemented with full responsibility and integrity," he said.
On the same day, the Prime Minister launched the 2026 National Youth Day celebration themed "Menggerak Belia Madani" before performing Friday prayers at Masjid Sri Sendayan here.
He later witnessed the presentation of a mock cheque worth RM47.7mil for the implementation of activities and initiatives related to Islamic affairs in Negri Sembilan. The cheque was handed over by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan to State Secretary Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim, representing the state government.
Of the amount, RM42.3mil was allocated for allowances and honorarium payments for imams, bilals, mosque caretakers, takmir teachers, and Quran and Fardu Ain Class (KAFA) teachers.
The Prime Minister said the Madani government would continue to uphold Islamic values and strengthen Islamic education institutions nationwide as part of an important agenda in building a Madani society founded on knowledge, morality and compassion.
This effort is important to ensure Islamic teachings continue to flourish and be strengthened, while also providing a more comfortable, safe and conducive learning environment for students and educators.
"God willing, the Madani government will continue strengthening the ummah development agenda to produce a knowledgeable, morally upright and prosperous society guided by comprehensive Islamic values," he said. - Bernama
