DBKL fines 31 motorists for misusing bus lane

KUALA LUMPUR: Over 30 motorists will pay the price for misusing a bus and taxi lane on Jalan Cheras here.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) said its traffic enforcement team conducted a special traffic enforcement operation Jalan Cheras in front a hospital on Wednesday (May 13) targeting drivers who misuse the special lane reserved for public transport vehicles.

DBKL said 31 drivers were issued compound notices found flouting traffic instructions conveyed through road signs and traffic signals under the Road Transport Act 1987 and the Road Traffic Rules 1959.

"Road users are reminded to obey traffic rules and signals set by the authorities:" DBKL said in a Facebook post on Friday (May 15).
