MARTIAL arts superstar Sammo Hung (pic) has ditched his wheelchair and was spotted with a much slimmer figure, sparking speculation over the actor’s transformation, China Press reported.

In the past few years, the 74-year-old had often been seen using a wheelchair in public due to diabetes and knee injuries from decades as an action star.

However, during the recent 44th Hong Kong Film Awards, Hung was seen dressed in a suit with a patterned floral tie alongside his wife.

Throughout the day, he was not seen using a wheelchair, walking only with the help of a walking cane.

Responding to rumours, Hung’s eldest son Timmy explained that his father underwent three faecal microbiota transplant procedures through a stool bank, receiving beneficial bacteria in his gastrointestinal tract.

Coupled with a strict diet enforced by his wife and former beauty queen Joyce Mina Godenzi, Hung managed to lose weight and regain his mobility.

> An eight-year-old boy in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, was awoken by severe pain in his left eye and was rushed to hospital, only for doctors to find that an ant had crawled into his eye, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The child woke up from his afternoon nap from stabbing pain in his eye.

After an examination, doctors were astonished to find a giant ant, measuring around 2.5mm long, clinging tightly to his lower eyelid.

After noticing biscuit crumbs around the boy’s face, doctors determined that the crumbs attracted the insect which later crawled into his eye and continued to bite him, causing intense pain.

Doctors removed the ant and treated the boy with a cold compress and anti-inflammatory eye drops.

He recovered in three days and suffered no permanent eyesight damage.
