Two killed in five-vehicle crash on Second Link Highway in Johor


ISKANDAR PUTERI: Two men, a foreign national and a local, were killed in an accident involving five vehicles at KM25.3 of the Second Link Highway towards Senai at 5.40am on Sunday (May 10).

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said a car carrying two people lost control, skidded and crashed into the metal road divider in the middle of the highway.

He said the driver was thrown out of the car and landed in the right lane before being hit by an oncoming motorcycle.

The driver suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

The passenger was also killed at the scene after he fell below a bridge, he added.

"The victims were a 37-year-old Indian national and a 34-year-old local, and the bodies have been sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for post-mortem," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
