Thunderstorm, heavy rain warning for KL, seven other states until 2pm


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds have been forecast for most seven states and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

In an advisory issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) at 11.25am on Friday (May 8), thunderstorms are expected over the entire state of Selangor and Melaka.

Also affected are Perak (Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak), Selangor, Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin) and Melaka

Other areas include Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Mersing and Kota Tinggi), Sarawak: Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song, Kapit and Bukit Mabong), Bintulu (Tatau) and Miri (Miri and Marudi) and Sabah: Interior (Kuala Penyu and Nabawan), Tawau (Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat (Pitas and Kudat).

The advisory is until 2pm today.
