Ipoh murder suspect has history of mental health issues, says Perak top cop

PERAK TENGAH: The 52-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of a senior citizen at Taman Desa Aman in Ipoh previously underwent psychiatric treatment, the Perak police chief said.

Comm Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said preliminary investigations found that the suspect was once a patient at Hospital Bahagia Hulu Kinta.

"The suspect is also believed to have been intoxicated at the time of the incident, with beer found at the scene.

"The motive is still under investigation," he told reporters after launching the Current Trends of Commercial Crimes Module at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS near here on Tuesday (May 5).
