Nurfisya murder case: Police deny suspect’s father is a senior officer

KOTA BARU: Police have denied that the father of one of the suspects accused of causing the death of a Mara Poly-Tech College student, Nurfisya Zulkifly, 19, from 61 stab wounds in Kampung Simah, Ketereh, is a high-ranking senior police officer.

Kota Bharu District Police Chief, Asst Comm Mohd Azmir Damiri, said the allegations were not true, reported Sinar Harian.

"As long as it's not an official statement from the police, don't believe it.

"These netizens sometimes investigate more than the police," he said on Monday (May 4).

Previously, a claim went viral on social media that the father of one of the arrested suspects was a high-ranking police officer.

On May 1, Nurfisya's body was found covered in blood on the road in Ketereh by residents at 12.22am.

The victim is believed to have been killed at another location before being abandoned in the area.
